Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare — Exo Zombies

Main Quest · Outbreak

Game Over, Man!

Outbreak’s rescue quest starts with a crashed Warbird’s Black Box. Lilith, Decker, Oz and Kahn each have a separate keycard puzzle; after collecting enough access cards, the team uses its character readers and returns to the Exo Suit Station to call in extraction. This route has no conventional boss fight.

Preparation

Before you startedit Before you start

Prerequisites

  • • Open access to the Morgue, Holding, Administration and Exo Training areas
  • • Exo Slam for every participating player
  • • An EM1 from the 3D Printer for Lilith’s card

Walkthrough

Step by step

  1. 01

    Start the Black Box decryption

Pick up the Black Box beside the crashed Warbird at spawn and install it in the Morgue terminal.

Troubleshooting: Wait for Angie to acknowledge the terminal before working on the cards.

  2. 02

    Print Lilith’s card

Draw an EM1 from the 3D Printer; fire the EM1 into the printer while buying another weapon, then take the ejected card.

Tip: The active printer may move, so find it before committing to this step.

  3. 03

    Recover Decker’s card

Enter the Incinerator through a trash chute and shoot the floor until the card pops up.

In solo, buy a chute but step back, wait for it to close, then buy and enter it again. In co-op, coordinate two players entering separate chutes together.

Troubleshooting: If the card does not appear, keep checking the floor while the Incinerator is active.

  4. 04

    Break open Oz’s cell

Shoot the bar under the middle Holding cell, then have every player Exo Slam the outermost cell roof together.

A cell rises only briefly after the synchronized slam. Collect Oz’s card before it lowers; repeat the slam if the window closes.

  5. 05

    Open Kahn’s checkpoint

During an Infected round, use all four Administration keypads while infected, then collect the card from the checkpoint window.

Check the security door opposite Exo Medic, the door near decontamination, the end of the red hallway, and the upper balcony by the MP11. All four must register during one infection; cleansing early resets this part.

Warning: Plan a path to decontamination before becoming infected.

  6. 06

Raise every player to clearance 49

Collect access-card drops from zombie kills until each player’s badge reads 49.

The four named cards can be completed in any order. Once the Black Box is installed and those puzzles are done, random access cards from kills advance the clearance badge.

Troubleshooting: A player at 49 must use a personal reader rather than farm more cards.

  7. 07

    Use the character readers

Return to the Morgue terminal, then send each player to the reader assigned to their character to reach clearance 50.

Lilith’s reader is on the upper Morgue floor; Decker’s is on the Exo Training stairwell; Oz’s is in Holding near Exo Health; Kahn’s is in Administration near the Morgue door.

Tip: Confirm every player reaches 50 before returning to the terminal.

  8. 08

    Authorize extraction

Use the Morgue terminal again, interact with an Exo Suit Station together, and return to spawn for the rescue scene.

The final station interaction is synchronized in co-op. The experimental Weapon Upgrade Station becomes available after authorization.
