Major Mackenzie Carver requested the job everyone else avoided: Requiem’s Head of Containment and Security, the man responsible for keeping the Dark Aether’s products in their boxes. A Korea and Vietnam veteran whose bluntness stalled his career and sharpened his judgment, he was the first at Requiem to deduce there was a command structure inside the Dark Aether — vindicated, eventually, by the Forsaken himself. Keston John voices him.

The blacksite years

He investigated the Director’s identity and correctly suspected his own phone was tapped; the arrest that followed the Forsaken’s containment proved the paranoia was underpowered. At Terminus he endured five years and taught Grey to fight; on the breakout he charged Peck on sight before accepting the truce the common enemy demanded.

The soldier’s vote

Terminus asks the worst of him — helping Maya put down her mutated brother — and Reckoning shows where the years moved him: he sides with giving S.A.M. a chance at life over trusting Richtofen. The Dark Aether takes him with the others; Black Ops 7 continues his watch.
