Main Quest

Ashes of the Damned main quest

Ashes of the Damned has an officially acknowledged main quest, which went live on 2025-11-14. Activision refers to it only as "the Main Quest" — no proper name has been published, and no first-party walkthrough exists, so the steps are not documented here.

The full write-up

Ashes of the Damned is officially the biggest round-based map in Black Ops history: an off-world Bermuda Triangle where six torn-loose locations — Janus Towers Plaza from Liberty Falls, Vandorn Farm, Blackwater Lake, the frontier town of Ashwood, the Exit 115 rest stop and the Zarya Cosmodrome — sit connected by fog-choked roads where the dead run stronger and faster. The story picks up exactly where Reckoning dropped the crew: inside the Dark Aether, eight timelines colliding, with Dempsey, Nikolai, Takeo and Richtofen’s variant selves alongside the Black Ops 6 four.

Power and the truck

Power is restored area by area, and the map’s heart is a vehicle: Ol’ Tessie, a rusting, upgradeable pickup driven with T.E.D.D.’s volatile guidance — upgrades officially include "a familiar former bus driver’s head" and a mountable DG-2 turret.

Pack-a-Punch

The Pack-a-Punch machine is mobile, clamped to Ol’ Tessie’s exhaust — upgrading means catching up with your own truck. Jump pads catapult players between areas for an Essence fee.

Wonder weapon

The Necrofluid Gauntlet debuts — a skull-fanged glove that hardens necrofluid into spikes, feeds on what it kills, and can drag items and power-ups to your hand — with the Ray Gun and Ray Gun Mark II alongside it.

Special enemies

Two officially-named debuts roam the roads: Ravagers, four-legged scavengers that eat dropped salvage and latch onto moving vehicles, and the Zursa, an elite undead bear hosting a parasite swarm Treyarch calls Zombees. The main quest went live on launch day, with Survival, Cursed and Directed modes following through the seasons.
