Main Quest

Main Quest

Tin Man Heart

Mauer der Toten’s main quest hunts Aleksandra Valentina, the Omega insider who tore the Berlin breach open, and closes it the hard way: a warhead assembled from satellite-cleansed uranium, carried into the Dark Aether by Klaus himself. It needs the CRBR-S with its Blazer mod and an upgraded Klaus, ends with a Valentina boss fight and an escort finale, and pays out the Tin Man Heart Dark Ops calling card — there is no console achievement attached. Fully soloable.

The full write-up

Mauer der Toten is Cold War’s Berlin chapter, released with Season Four Reloaded: a blacked-out East Berlin on 2 February 1985, playing from apartment rooftops down through a hotel, a ghost U-Bahn station and the sewers, then across the Wall’s death strip into West Berlin. Requiem’s strike team fight it under duress — captured at the end of Outbreak’s story, they are working off a deal with Kravchenko: seal the breach, catch the traitor who opened it, and maybe their pilot lives.

Power

It takes at least 5,000 Essence in doors to reach the underground Power Room, and the first pull of the switch fails: the box is missing two components, each dropped by a Tempest — one bursts out in the Electronics Store side room, the second near Switch Control or Sewer Access. Slot both in, flip the switch again, and the map’s rappel lines go live along with everything else.

Pack-a-Punch

The machine sits out on the death strip at Checkpoint Charlie, locked beneath a floating ring of undead soldiers — an old ritual with a Disciple at its head. Walk in and the Disciple attacks; kill it and the machine unlocks. Mind the guard towers on the strip: their spotlights auto-target players, though the turrets can be temporarily flipped to shoot zombies instead.

Wonder weapon: the CRBR-S

The CRBR-S — say "Cerberus" — is a Requiem-built energy pistol that transforms. Mod kits drop from its own kills and reshape it into the Blazer’s cutting beam, the Swarm’s homing projectiles or the Diffuser’s spread, each reverting to the pistol when its ammo runs dry. It comes from the Box or the Trials computer, or guaranteed from the Room 305 wall safe once Klaus has punched open a locker and a blacklight has revealed the three code digits hidden around the map.

Klaus

Klaus is the map’s defining machine: a combat robot found chained to a chair in the CIA safehouse, missing his battery — looted from the first Krasny Soldat — and his hands, which are recovered from around a corpse’s neck behind a door a Brain Rot zombie has to smash for you. Activated, he fights, follows orders, punches open what you point him at and revives the fallen; bone-pile digs and blacklight-marked power boxes upgrade him. The main quest cannot be finished without him.

Perks

Every perk then in Cold War has a dedicated machine here — including Mule Kick, making its Cold War debut on the Ghost Station platform, with a machine that literally shoots at nearby zombies while you buy. Tombstone greets you at spawn, Elemental Pop guards the Power Room, and Der Wunderfizz waits in the West Berlin department store.

Special enemies

Tempests and Krasny Soldats return, joined by two debuts: the Tormentor, a sprinting suicide-exploder whose blast strips half a health bar, and the Disciple, a floating commander that empowers the horde, summons more of it, and drains life at close range to heal itself. There are no Manglers on this map — that is Firebase Z’s problem.

The main quest: “Tin Man Heart”

The quest builds Klaus a hacking helm, breaches Valentina’s hidden Endstation lab behind a sewer wall, fills Tempest-essence canisters, stops a ghost train with a robot fist, and cooks satellite-cleansed uranium into a warhead — before a fight with Valentina herself and a finale in which Klaus carries the bomb into the Dark Aether and does not come back. First completion awards the Tin Man Heart Dark Ops calling card rather than an achievement, and the whole quest is soloable.

Story

The traitor of the piece is Aleksandra Valentina — born Angelika Vogel, daughter of the scientist whose 1945 Projekt Endstation first cracked the Dark Aether. She opened the Berlin breach believing her dead father’s voice was guiding her; the voice was the entity later named the Forsaken, and killing her only postpones its arrival. The outro hands the story straight to the Forsaken finale: Raptor-1 rescued, Kravchenko reneging, and Samantha Maxis spending herself to portal the team out.
