The Black Ops 6 finale builds to the mode’s rarest mechanic: a choice. The quest fights through Janus Towers — a Mangler-mutated scientist, S.A.M.’s file codes, the Forsaken destroyed for good and fused into the Gorgofex, a Franken-Klaus assembled from the factory floor — to the one-way breach into Tower 3, where the attuned Sentinel Artifact asks the crew to side with Richtofen or with S.A.M. The rooftop boss is whichever one they refuse. Both endings drop Weaver, Grey, Carver and Maya into the Dark Aether, where four familiar voices welcome them to the party. Soloable; hardcore versions wait at round 100.
Reckoning ends Black Ops 6 Zombies where its conspiracies were manufactured: Janus Towers, three interconnected skyscrapers of Project Janus headquarters in the West Virginian hills, reactors running toward meltdown on the same February night the whole season has occupied. The crew arrives from Shattered Veil in the strangest company of the saga — allied with Edward Richtofen against S.A.M., the AI wearing their comms channel like a mask.
The map is vertical: reception plazas, mutant-research labs and a quantum computing core in Tower 1; android assembly, the Forsaken’s containment chamber and a particle accelerator in Tower 2; and the quest-locked Tower 3 rising to the rooftop arena. Aether elevators climb, anti-grav launchers throw players between towers, parachutes bring them down, and low-gravity zones bend the fights in between.
No power ritual — the facility is alive and dying at once. Pack-a-Punch is freed by restarting the Tower 2 particle accelerator and shooting out the Aetherium crystals ringing the chamber; the perk selection that follows is the widest on any Black Ops 6 map.
The Gorgofex debuts — a bio-mechanical horror firing chargeable aether slugs whose dissipation field floats zombies helplessly off the floor. It comes from the box or a build quest that feeds a living Cyst and fuses it with the essence of the Forsaken himself, fought here as a mini-boss and destroyed for good. A side choice between two Janus men, Panos and Blanchard, forks it into the C and N variants.
Janus fights with its products: Kommando Klaus battalions — self-destructing robot squads heralded by red mist — and the Uber Klaus elite, whose broken exoskeleton ejects a flying core that keeps fighting. Toxic Zombies, Elder Disciples, Doppelghasts and Amalgams fill the stairwells.
The quest builds toward the mode’s rarest thing: a decision. After breaching Tower 3 — one way, no return — the crew attunes the Sentinel Artifact in the lift and chooses a side. Back Richtofen, and the rooftop boss is S.A.M., a flying orb of vents and trials; back S.A.M., and it is Richtofen in an Uber Klaus mech, finishing the fight with a jetpack and his own Wunderwaffe DG-2. Soloable, with hardcore variants at round 100.
The truth lands first: Samantha Maxis was consumed by the Forsaken long ago — there was never anyone to save. Richtofen’s ending recreates Mary and Samuel in the artifact’s vortex; S.A.M.’s pours her consciousness into a rebuilt Samantha whose eyes flicker purple. Either way, the artifact strikes the crew and drops Weaver, Grey, Carver and Maya into a mirrored plaza in the Dark Aether, where four familiar silhouettes bid them welcome to the party — the handoff, mid-sentence, to Black Ops 7.
