The End?

The anthology’s finale earns its question mark: four floppy disks inserted in a hidden order send the robot N31L rogue, a movie poster hides his re-hack button, and his happy-face head — carried by Entangler to the projector computer — opens the Cryptid gauntlet: Rhino containers, portal waves, and two fire-bleeding Mammoths whose death yields the fifth Soul Key piece. The ending feeds Wyler to his own screen and locks the doors anyway; the true finale, with Director’s Cut and every talisman, is a multi-phase battle against Mephistopheles himself. Soloable.

The full write-up

The Beast from Beyond is the anthology’s finale and its strangest layer cake: a derelict Zeta Corp station on an ice planet in 2206 — which Poindexter recognises, correctly, as a remake of a film he has seen, because Wyler’s fifth picture is a Call of Duty: Ghosts Extinction crossover. For once no celebrity waits in a cell; the four actors carry the reel alone, and the exit leads somewhere no other map goes — out of the film entirely, into Wyler’s ruined Afterlife Theater in present-day New York.

Power: N31L’s head

There is no switch — the station wakes when the robot N31L’s head is recovered from the tunnels and installed in the Staging terminal. Until then the map fields no zombies at all: only Cryptids, the skittering aliens of Extinction, hunting in the dark.

Pack-a-Punch

Three scrap pieces — one on a burning car in the real-world street — repair the broken bridge outside, and the glacier portal beyond runs the standard thirty-second Projection Room visits, with a Cryptid welcome party on the first return each round.

Wonder weapons

The Venom-X crosses over from Extinction: a launcher of sticky Cryptid eggs bursting into poison gas, upgrading through cipher puzzles into the freezing Venom-Y and the lingering Venom-Z. The Entangler gravity gun rides shotgun in its own slot, and half the quest is impossible without it.

The Cryptids

Scouts swarm low, teleporting Phantoms flicker in blue, and the boss gauntlet escalates to Rhinos and a pair of fire-bleeding Mammoths — Ghosts’ bestiary playing the villains of Wyler’s last picture.

The main quest: “The End?”

Four floppy disks, a rogue robot re-hacked through a movie poster, and N31L’s happy-face head carried by Entangler to the projector computer open the final fight: a container gauntlet of Rhinos, portal waves, and two Mammoths whose death yields the fifth Soul Key piece. Soloable — and the question mark in the title is honest.

The ending

The actors feed Wyler into his own screen — and find the theater doors sealed and themselves wearing his clothes, as Mephistopheles, the demon holding the director’s contract, purrs his approval. The true finale needs Director’s Cut and every map’s talisman: a multi-phase battle with the demon himself, rewarded with playable Wyler and a final shot that pulls back to reveal all five films sealed inside a Soul Jar. Nobody, it turns out, ever escaped. "To be continued."
