A fog-blanketed island north of Germany, ringed by Nazi guns.

Heligoland asks for two things at once: the Pommel of Barbarossa, earned through the island’s grisly Nerthus ritual (its own trophy, "Black Winds to Darker Lands"), and the escape — ten Stukas shot down by flak, three warships sunk by shore battery, and a Meistermeuchler gauntlet fought under falling RAF bombs as "Making History" closes the map. The crew leaves as stowaways aboard Straub’s own zeppelin. Soloable, but tuned for a squad.
The Darkest Shore lands the Raven crew on Heligoland — the real North Sea fortress island, days after Mittelburg and hours before the RAF flattened it in fact and fiction alike. The fog never lifts, Straub’s zeppelin fleet drones overhead, and the intro spends an entire American assault force to buy the four survivors a beachhead.
From the MG-covered beach the map climbs through bluffs and bunker networks to an artillery emplacement and down into U-boat pens, with a mine-tunnel system underneath served by a callable minecart running three stations. The coastal cannon and flak guns are not scenery — the quest fires all of them.
Two switches — one in the artillery bunker, the main one in the U-boat pens — and the Ubersprengen in Bunker 3 asks for more: both switches live plus three Elektroschnalle scavenged from the mine tunnels before it will take your Jolts.
The Tesla Guns never made it ashore — the crate went overboard, and only the stocks survived. The replacement is bleaker: the Ripsaw, a buildable saw that starts as melee and learns to fire ricocheting blades after being fed a zombie’s glowing spine, upgrading further to the R.I.P. Saw via coordinates decoded from six hidden Enigma machines and delivered by coastal artillery.
The fog rounds belong to the Meuchler — a four-armed, long-tongued flanker in metal headgear, bred somewhere between the Wüstling and the Bomber — and its buffed Meistermeuchler kin anchor the finale. Brenners, Pests and Bombers fill the rest of the roster, and Stuka dive-bombers strafe the quest’s later steps.
Two achievements share the work: "Black Winds to Darker Lands" for recovering the Pommel of Barbarossa through the island’s grisly Nerthus ritual, and "Making History" for the escape — ten Stukas shot down, three warships sunk by shore battery, and a Meistermeuchler gauntlet fought under falling RAF bombs. Soloable, though the map is tuned for a full squad; the crew leaves as stowaways on Straub’s own zeppelin, bound for Berlin.
The second piece of Barbarossa’s sword leaves the island in Allied hands, and the arc tightens: hilt from Mittelburg, pommel from the shore, and one blade waiting in a burning capital.
