Bye-Bye, Dark Aether

Liberty Falls’ main quest, "Bye-Bye, Dark Aether," is about containing the dimensional breach over the town — the same incursion unfolding concurrently at Terminus. It is the approachable of the two Black Ops 6 launch quests: build the Jet Gun, assemble a collection device with its suction, fill and defend Aether canisters at the storms, then hold the church through a three-wave lockdown that ends with the Abomination. Fully soloable, and a common first BO6 quest completion.

Preparation

Before you start

Prerequisites

  • • The Thrustodyne Model 23 (Jet Gun) built
  • • Essence for the door route to the Hilltop Church and Pack-a-Punch

Walkthrough

Step by step

  1. 01

    Build the Jet Gun

    Collect the parts and craft the Thrustodyne Model 23.

  2. 02

    Assemble the collector

    Use the Jet Gun’s suction to pull in the floating components and assemble the device on the rooftop.

  3. 03

    Fill the first canister

    Charge an Aether canister at a Dark Aether storm, defend it while it fills, defeat the high-value target, and carry it back to the church.

  4. 04

    Synchronise the projectors

    Activate the three film projectors in the sequence the quest directs.

  5. 05

    Fill the second canister

    Repeat the canister fill at the cemetery storm and return it.

  6. 06

    Hold the church

    Survive the three-wave lockdown — zombies and Vermin, then an elite Mangler, then Manglers alongside the Abomination.

    The Abomination goes down by destroying its three heads while it channels its electric beam. That kill ends the lockdown and completes the quest.
