Main Quest · Mob of the Dead

Pop Goes the Weasel

Pop Goes the Weasel ends with the four mobsters turning on each other on the Golden Gate Bridge, and both endings unlock the achievement. It needs at least two players — one of them playing Albert "Weasel" Arlington — and cannot be completed on Easy. As of Blood of the Dead, the broken cycle is the canon ending.

Spoiler warning

This walkthrough reveals the map's finale. Continue only if you want to know how it ends.

Preparation

Before you start

Prerequisites

  • One player as Weasel — he is the finale
  • Not playable on Easy difficulty
  • The Hell’s Retriever, before the skulls and the spoon

Walkthrough

Step by step

  1. 01

    Fly the cycle once

Build the Icarus from its five parts on the roof, fly to the Golden Gate Bridge, and come home through the electric chairs.

Most parts sit behind Afterlife barriers, so budget charges. The chairs return everyone to spawn in Afterlife — self-revive and carry on. The quest counts these full loops, and it wants three before the endgame opens.

  2. 02

    Earn the Hell’s Retriever

Feed zombie kills to the three Cerberus wolf heads around the prison, then take the tomahawk from the Citadel tunnels.

  3. 03

    Collect the five blue skulls

Throw the Retriever at the five glowing skulls — by Jugger-Nog’s lamppost, the docks pillar, the roof edge, the lit cell near spawn, and the pole outside the Warden’s office window.

The skulls only become visible after the bridge has been visited, though they can be hit blind. All five collected puts a free Blundergat on the table by Speed Cola in the Warden’s office — the box Blundergat does not count for this.

  4. 04

    Retrieve the spoon

Blast the movie poster in the cell near the Warden’s office, zap the spoon behind the wall in Afterlife, then catch it with the Retriever from the back of the cafeteria.

  5. 05

    Enter the mobsters’ numbers

With three cycles flown, the skulls done and the spoon held, enter 101, 481, 386 and 872 on the spiral-staircase number pad in Afterlife, then follow the five headphone drops through Ferguson’s narration.

The pad shuffles after each number and the Afterlife meter is barely long enough — a partner holding a partial revive on your body buys time, or split the numbers across two Afterlives.

Troubleshooting: The headphone drops never despawn; each new one waits until the last was heard out.

  6. 06

Board the plane in Afterlife and settle it

Use the plane while in Afterlife — no refuel needed. It crashes at the bridge, everyone self-revives from the chairs, and Weasel becomes a target the other three can damage, and they him.

Zombies ignore Weasel entirely and he takes reduced damage to offset the numbers. Weasel killing the other mobsters breaks the cycle; the mobsters killing Weasel restarts it. The achievement unlocks either way.
