The Pentagon — featuring the weapon-stealing Pentagon Thief.
A diagram of how the areas connect. It shows routes and neighbours, not distances or shapes — it is not to scale.
Open route diagram"Five" is the Pentagon in an alternate 1963, and Zombies at its most gleefully absurd: John F. Kennedy, Robert McNamara, Richard Nixon and Fidel Castro, mid-crisis-meeting, arming themselves from a hidden weapons cache as the dead pour in. It shipped in the Black Ops base game alongside Kino der Toten, unlocked by finishing the campaign — or by breaking out of the main-menu chair and typing 3ARC UNLOCK into the CIA terminal.
The map descends: offices at spawn, the two-level War Room below, and the secret laboratories at the bottom, stitched together by a pair of elevators and teleporter pads whose destinations randomise. Nova gas crawlers haunt the labs once the power is on.
The switch is on the bottom floor, deep in the laboratories off the War Room elevator. It wakes the perks, the teleporters, and the two electric security-door traps upstairs — each of which also needs an electrical component found and fitted before it works.
Pack-a-Punch lives in a panic room off the normal map. Press all four DEFCON switches in the War Room — two on the floor, two on the catwalk — and the announcer calls DEFCON 5; every teleporter then routes to the panic room, where the machine slides out of the wall. You get half a minute or so of calm before zombies breach it, and the whole procedure resets when the last player leaves.
The Winter’s Howl debuts here — a freezing wonder weapon from the Mystery Box that ices a crowd solid and shatters it. It is exclusive to "Five" and the Black Ops version of Verrückt, and it shares box space with the Ray Gun, the Crossbow and Monkey Bombs.
Four perks at launch, split by floor: Quick Revive and Speed Cola upstairs in the offices, Jugger-Nog and Double Tap down in the War Room. Mule Kick joined later by patch, across from Jugger-Nog — the same update that spread it to every Zombies map of the era.
Instead of dog rounds, "Five" sends the Thief: a sprinting scientist who steals the weapon out of your hands and bolts for an exit. Kill him before he grabs anything and the reward is a Max Ammo plus a Bonfire Sale — every teleporter routed straight to Pack-a-Punch at a fifth of the price. Kill him after the theft and you get your gun back with a Fire Sale; let him escape and the weapon is simply gone.
No quest — the map’s song is "Won’t Back Down" by Eminem, started by activating the three ringing red rotary phones, the last of which sits inside the Pack-a-Punch panic room itself. A portrait of a certain German doctor hangs in there too, for players paying attention.
Canonically "Five" sits in early November 1963, just after Kino, and its Thief has a name: Yuri Zavoyski, the Ascension Group scientist who betrayed Gersch and was hurled through the resulting rift to the Pentagon. Black Ops 4 later reimagined the whole map as Classified, swapping the politicians for Ultimis mid-Grand-Scheme — but the original’s four-statesman crew remains one of the strangest and best casts the mode ever fielded.
