Nova Crawlers

Nova Crawlers are Group 935’s failed experiments given legs — skinny, gas-bloated things that scuttle on all fours and detonate into a Nova-6 cloud when bullets finish them. The cloud cuts both ways: it stings and blinds players, but it also instantly kills every ordinary zombie it touches, which makes a well-placed Crawler the cheapest trap in Black Ops.

Where they crawl

They debuted on Kino der Toten mixed into ordinary rounds, kept to the laboratory floor on "Five", and returned in Classified free to roam every level — where forty of them can be summoned at once by pestering McNamara’s office door. Moon fields a phasing variant that teleports short distances and, in low gravity, declines to explode at all. The finish matters: a knife, a trap or an explosive kill leaves no cloud, and killing one beside a teleporter spares you too.
