Shattered Veil’s quest is a favour for S.A.M. that curdles into the season’s biggest betrayal: three Liminal Space rituals — each demanding its matching Ray Gun Mark II variant against a Mangler, an Elder Disciple and an Amalgam — gather the Prima Materia that charges the Sentinel Artifact. Handing it over teleports the crew into Richtofen’s pocket-dimension prison, where the truth about his dead family and Weaver’s part in it comes out, and the escape wakes the mansion’s T-Rex fossil into the Z-Rex boss fight. Soloable, with a hardcore rematch at round 100.
Shattered Veil climbs the wooded hills above Liberty Falls to Sam Colton Hall — a historic mansion retrofitted by Project Janus into a command centre, and the base from which Edward Richtofen has run everything. The crew arrives on February 28, 1991 carrying The Tomb’s Sentinel Artifact, with S.A.M. promising that charging it will bring Samantha Maxis home. The house has other rooms than the ones on the floor plan: Liminal Spaces, pocket dimensions replaying the estate in other eras.
Everything runs from the start, as Black Ops 6 does; Pack-a-Punch waits below. A fuse earned in the Library and a circuit board shot out of Richtofen’s own computer repair the elevator down to the Security Overlook, where the machine overlooks S.A.M.’s mainframe chamber.
The Ray Gun Mark II headlines — buildable through a trail of floppy disks, fax machines, a nursery chalkboard cipher and a Doppelghast’s severed arm — and the quest demands the build, not a lucky box pull. Three exclusive canister variants follow: the igniting SMG-style Mark II-W, the sigil-shielded shotgun Mark II-P, and the plague-spreading marksman Mark II-R, each forged through its own ritual on the grounds. The Wunderwaffe DG-2 rides the box, and Double Tap Root Beer returns to a machine after a decade away.
Two additions lead the roster: sprinting Toxic Zombies that burst into acid pools, and the Elder Disciple, whose auras evolve the horde around it and hurry Doppelghast transformations. Behind them stand Amalgams, Abominations, Manglers — and a fossil in the great hall that will not stay a fossil.
Three liminal rituals — each requiring its matching Mark II variant against a Mangler, an Elder Disciple and an Amalgam — gather the Prima Materia that charges the artifact. Handing it to S.A.M. springs the trap: she teleports the crew into the pocket dimension where Richtofen has been trapped since the Liberty Falls breach, and the escape through Josiah Shem’s spacetime device wakes the mansion’s T-Rex skeleton into the Z-Rex boss fight. Soloable; a hardcore rematch waits at round 100.
The map’s revelation rewrites the whole arc: Richtofen’s wife Mary and son Samuel died ten years ago in a botched CIA hit meant for him — carried out by Weaver, with Maxis as accomplice — and Requiem, Janus and S.A.M. were all machinery for getting his family back. S.A.M.’s own plan is darker still: to recreate Samantha Maxis’s body and wear it. The crew leaves the mansion allied, uneasily, with the man they came to fight, marching on the sirens of Janus Towers.
