Terminus

Terminus is the dark half of Black Ops 6’s launch pairing — a storm-swept island blacksite in the Philippine Sea, holding both a maximum-security prison and a Project Janus bio-research lab in the mining caves beneath it. Officially one of the largest round-based maps ever built, it stretches from cell blocks down through sea caves to an open ocean with outlying islands you reach by boat, and it is the harder, longer counterpart to Liberty Falls.

Power

Power comes back in three stages: activate the three Aetherium Maturation Pods — the "AMP generators" in community shorthand. The first sits by the Guard Station near spawn and must be defended briefly while it spins up; the second is out past Communications by the Living Quarters; the third waits in the Bio Lab, and switching it on lights the rest of the island. Perk machines along each route only work once power has reached their section.

Pack-a-Punch

Pack-a-Punch lives in the Bio Lab, reached through the Sea Caves or the Mining Tunnels. With the final AMP on, you raise a submerged platform from underwater — the machine rides up with it, and weapons upgrade through the usual three tiers.

Wonder weapon: the DRI-11 Beamsmasher

Terminus debuts the DRI-11 Beamsmasher, an LMG-sized directed-energy weapon: a continuous Aetheric beam as primary fire, and a sonic pulse that slows anything — bosses included — while making it take extra damage. It comes from the Mystery Box, as a rare drop from the meteor event, or free through a build quest that runs from Dead Wire-shot electrical boxes through a researcher’s keycard, a symbol-math puzzle you can pay Peck 5,000 Essence to skip, and a raft tour of the outer islands. Pack-a-Punched it becomes the Supersonic Crusher.

Rafts, traps and the island

The Tactical Raft is round-based Zombies’ first drivable vehicle, summoned at boat portals to reach Crab Island, Temple Island, Castle Rock Island and the shipwreck — swim if you insist, but something in the smog capsizes rafts and worse. On the island itself: Tentacle Traps that snatch zombies into ceiling vents, the Void Cannon — a 1942 coastal gun rebuilt to fire an Aether beam — a Maglev elevator and an inclined lift down to the Bio Lab, and armoury weapon lockers. There are no ziplines here; those are Liberty Falls’ furniture.

Perks

Eight machines at launch: Jugger-Nog in the Living Quarters, Quick Revive by the Interrogation Rooms, Stamin-Up in the Control Center, Speed Cola in the Sea Caves, Deadshot Daiquiri on the Seaside Path, Elemental Pop in the Sea Tower, PhD Flopper in the Mining Tunnels and Melee Macchiato at the bottom of the Bio Lab. Der Wunderfizz sits on the bow of the shipwreck, raft access only.

Special enemies

Terminus fields the fullest bestiary of the launch pair: Vermin swarms and the flying, acid-spitting Parasites that evolved from them; armored Manglers with Janus-built arm cannons; and the map’s own debut elite, the Amalgam — an eight-foot fusion of bodies that regenerates severed limbs and drags victims into the maw in its chest. Hostile Janus Security humans fight both sides, and Parasites are the island’s speciality — Liberty Falls never sees them.

The main quest: “No Mo’ Modi”

The quest — achievement "No Mo’ Modi" — runs from a hard drive stunned out of a Tentacle Trap, through Nathan’s containment-pod code and a heartbreaking mini-boss, restored comm nodes that bring the AI S.A.M. back online, satellite buoys hacked under Parasite attack, and a five-minute nuclear defusal, to a three-phase jetty fight against Patient 13 — a former Janus scientist Dr. Modi turned into her longest-surviving experiment. It is fully soloable, and solo runs can save-and-quit at the boss door.

Story

Six years after the Forsaken, the senior Requiem team — Weaver, Grey, Carver — sit imprisoned on Terminus by their old director: Edward Richtofen, now running Project Janus. On 19 February 1991 the smuggler Maya Aguinaldo and a very-much-alive William Peck break them out just as a dimensional breach unleashes the island, while a second, simultaneous breach hits Liberty Falls. S.A.M. — a Janus AI built on Samantha Maxis’s brain scans — becomes the crew’s ally and the mode’s announcer, and the ending points the story toward the Sentinel Artifact and Citadelle des Morts.
