Voyage of Despair

Voyage of Despair opens the Chaos story where history’s most famous ship meets the mode’s oldest premise: April 14, 1912, the Titanic, and a heist gone catastrophically wrong. Scarlett Rhodes and her crew — Diego, Bruno and Shaw — board to steal an ancient artifact from the Millionaire Suite safe; a hooded agent of the Order activates it first, and the outbreak sweeps the ship from the captain down. The map runs the vessel’s full length, bow to stern, top deck to flooded boiler room.

The Sentinel Artifact

Chaos maps replace the power switch with the Sentinel Artifact, and here it waits on the Poop Deck: activating it opens the red-sealed areas, wakes the bow-to-stern fast-travel portals, and reveals the machinery of the map. The perk altars — Danu, Ra, Zeus and Odin — serve the crew’s customised loadout perks in the classic machines’ place.

Pack-a-Punch on four pedestals

Four stone pedestals stand at the Poop Deck, Cargo Hold, Turbine Room and Lower Grand Staircase; touch all four and the machine materialises at the last one — then migrates between them as the game runs, a moving target aboard a tilting ship. The drowned lower decks drain via valves for anyone willing to work below the waterline.

Wonder weapon: the Kraken

The Kraken is a three-barrelled hand-cannon whose explosive rounds cannot hurt their owner. It comes from the box, or free through the Stoker’s Key: kill one of the shovel-armed boiler-crew Stokers by its weak points alone, unlock the soul chest it opens, feed the chest three times, and a tentacle the size of a funnel delivers the weapon over the rail. A buildable Distillation Kit then brews four elemental variants keyed to the map’s Catalyst zombies.

Special enemies

The Chaos bestiary debuts here: elemental Catalysts in four flavours, armored Stokers hurling fire, and the Blightfather — a grappling, vomiting horror that grows out of an ordinary zombie from round 15 on, its weak sacs glowing on back and elbows.

The main quest: “Abandon Ship”

The trial runs from lever ciphers through elemental teleporter challenges to the map’s strangest flourish — Pack-a-Punching the Sentinel Artifact itself — and a solar-system puzzle that has players shooting planets out of the night sky, Neptune waiting in the water. It ends inside the iceberg with a five-phase boss fight against the Eye of Malice and Despair, roaming half the ship before the finale. Soloable; the reversal saves the passengers’ souls, but not the ship.

Story

The escape by lifeboat points the story at Greece — Shaw recognises the trial’s vision as Delphi — while Bruno’s forehead carries the first red glow of the Order’s mark. The letter that assembled this crew came from Scarlett’s father Alistair, abducted from his own manor three weeks earlier: the night Dead of the Night replays.
