Salvation Lies Above

The last Aether quest — its name and achievement both quote the writing on Nacht der Untoten’s wall — has Victis bargain with a tank of Apothicon Elder God blood aboard the wrecked Tugarin, purify the Seal of Duality through every Pack-a-Punch on the map, and escort the finished piece across a Siberia turned to lava. The Agarthan Device goes up the Hermit’s pulley; Pablo Marinus remembers his own name and ascends to the Great War; and the ending poisons, shoots and releases a decade of story at one campfire. Soloable, and gentler mechanically than any finale before it.

Before you start

Prerequisites

  • • Pack-a-Punch and the Golden Pack-a-Punch iceberg both reached
  • • The Wunderwaffe DG-Scharfschütze and Samantha’s Music Box
  • • At least two of the Hermit’s Challenge Totems complete

Walkthrough

Step by step

  1. 01

    Tune the dials

    Set the Hermit’s four colored dials in Artifact Storage, where the Apothicon Blood waits aboard the Tugarin.

  2. 02

    Serve the Blood

    Deliver its three riddled offerings, dynamite the Seal of Duality free, and shepherd the escaped orbs home — blue by snowball, then shot back in.

  3. 03

    The Elemental Shard

    Purify the Seal at the campfire with the Music Box, work the heated and frozen soapstones into Human Infusion, and open the Lighthouse Station for the Shard.

  4. 04

    Charge the Seal

    Run the Seal through all four roaming Pack-a-Punch machines and merge the Apothicon Blood into it — light and dark resolved into one device.

  5. 05

    The Golden charge

    Charge the Seal in the Golden Pack-a-Punch on the iceberg. The water turns to lava, and the map commits.

    Warning: This is the point of no return.

  6. 06

    The escort

    Walk the Seal across the burning map inside its shrinking bubble to Human Infusion, hand the finished Agarthan Device up the pulley — and pick it up when it lands at the Forecastle, if you are ready for the end.
