wonder weapon

Chain-lightning wonder weapon that arcs between zombies.
Doctor Richtofen’s electrical wonder weapon, central to early Aether lore and the Wunderwaffe experiments.
The Wunderwaffe DG-2 is Richtofen’s masterpiece and the mode’s first true crowd-eraser: one bolt of Element 115 lightning kills its target instantly and chains through up to nine more, no damage falloff, no round cap. It debuted in Shi No Numa’s Mystery Box with three charges in the tube and a healthy respect required — in the classic versions its splash could hurt you, and one World at War bug could permanently shrink your health for standing too close.
Three shots, fifteen in reserve, and zombies it kills drop no power-ups — the weapon’s quiet tax everywhere but its debut swamp. Pack-a-Punched it becomes the Wunderwaffe DG-3 JZ, doubling the magazine; the Black Ops III revival removed the self-shock and lets each bolt stun the survivors it does not kill.
The box on Shi No Numa and Der Riese in two games, The Giant and the Chronicles remasters in Black Ops III — where it also replaces the Winter’s Howl in remastered Verrückt. Call of the Dead treats it as treasure instead: the reward for the map’s ensemble easter egg, un-upgradeable and gone when its ammo runs dry. In the fiction it is the gun that misfired Ultimis through time — Richtofen fired it into a Der Riese teleporter, and the story has never recovered.
