Main Quest

Tower of Babble

TranZit’s main quest is a choice, not a checklist: the pylon above Green Run can be turned to either Ludvig Maxis or Edward Richtofen, and the two questlines are mutually exclusive and directly opposed. Maxis’s side runs on Turbines and killing the Avogadro; Richtofen’s side runs on the Jet Gun and EMP grenades. Either way the achievement is "Tower of Babble", and the side you empower carries forward through Die Rise and Buried as the Victis crew’s standing choice.

The full write-up

TranZit strings five survival areas across Green Run — Bus Depot, Diner, Farm, Power Station and Town — and connects them with a driverless bus and a thick, damaging fog. It is the map that introduced the crafting workbench and buildables to Zombies, and almost everything here, from the power switch to Pack-a-Punch to the wonder weapon, is something you assemble from scattered parts.

Power

Even the power switch is a buildable. In the Power Station you drop into a lower room and assemble the switch from three parts — a lever, a severed zombie hand and a circuit board — at the workbench there. Throwing it brings the perks, traps and lighting online and, less helpfully, causes the electric Avogadro to start appearing during storms.

Pack-a-Punch

Reaching Pack-a-Punch is a sequence, not a room. Turn on power and build a Turbine, then place the Turbine against the green-lightning door in the Power Station to open it and start a timer — and race to Town before the Turbine dies. In the Town bank, cook grenades to blow the heavy vault door and a second door beyond it, drop into the underground corridor, and build the Pack-a-Punch machine itself from parts down there. A second player planting a fresh Turbine is the usual answer when the timer runs short.

Wonder weapon: the Jet Gun

The Jet Gun — the Thrustodyne Aeronautics Model 23 — is built from four parts, one apiece in the Tunnel, the Power Station, the Nacht-referencing cornfield building and the Cabin, and assembled at the workbench in Town. It sucks zombies in and kills them instantly, but it runs hot: hold the trigger for about fifteen seconds and the pressure gauge redlines. Overheat it and the gun explodes, scattering its parts for you to gather and rebuild. It cannot be Pack-a-Punched.

Buildables and workbenches

Beyond the power switch, Turbine and Jet Gun, you can build a Zombie Shield for back protection at the Diner garage, an automated Turret in the Farm barn, and an Electric Trap at the Power Station. The NAV Card Table, built under the pylon between Farm and Power Station, reads the navcards that tie TranZit to Die Rise and Buried in the wider "Great War" arc.

Perks

Six perks are spread along the route: Quick Revive at the Bus Depot spawn, Jugger-Nog and Stamin-Up in Town, Speed Cola at the Diner, Double Tap in the Farm barn, and Tombstone Soda at the Power Station. Tombstone debuted here and is co-op only — go down and you can return to your tombstone drop to recover your perks and guns. (Who’s Who, often confused with it, is a Die Rise perk and does not appear on TranZit.)

The fog and the Denizens

Leaving the bus route means crossing fog that blinds you and hides Denizens — clawing creatures that latch onto your head and flee from light. They are also a travel tool: power a lamppost with a Turbine, and a Denizen that jumps a player standing under it digs a portal that teleports them between areas. This is the enemy the fog exists to hide, and learning to use the lampposts turns a hazard into a shortcut.

The main quest

TranZit’s easter egg, "Tower of Babble," is built around the pylon and splits in two: you serve either Maxis or Richtofen, never both, and the two paths directly oppose each other. Maxis’s side turns on the NAV Card Table and feeds energy into the pylon; Richtofen’s side uses the Jet Gun and EMP grenades on the lampposts. Each advances its own master’s agenda in the overarching story.

Story

Green Run sits in a ruined Washington State after the Moon missiles wrecked the Earth. Four survivors — Samuel Stuhlinger, Abigail "Misty" Briarton, Marlton Johnson and Russman, later called Victis — are caught between Richtofen, who now speaks to them from the Aether, and Maxis, a disembodied voice trying to reclaim control. Which of the two the crew empowers is the choice the "Tower of Babble" sides represent, and it carries through Die Rise and Buried.
